On Thursday, December 13th, BFUHS presented their annual Winter Concert, featuring the Concert Choir, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, and a student art show. The diverse combination invited an audience of fellow performers, administrators, family, friends, and other members of the community. The spectacular display of artistic talent and hard work demonstrated by artists and musicians alike was magnificently showcased in a free, welcoming format. Overall, the skill and dedication exhibited by a substantial portion of the student body impressed numerous supporters of the arts.

When asked to reflect upon their experiences as audience members and/or performers, the replies were largely positive and supportive.

Christopher Hodsden (Principal): “It was a great performance with a nice variety of musical groups and themes, and it’s always nice to wrap up a concert with a sing along. The art show had many impressive pieces.”

Bradie Harris (Senior): “It was a really fun last winter concert, I think we played well and the crowd was very receptive, especially to American Elegy.”

Andrew Malshuk (Junior): “It was very well executed and all the hard work paid off.”

Emma Graham (Sophomore): “There was a nice variety of music played and the wind ensemble had their first ever concert which was pretty successful.”

Tylar Stanley (Sophomore): “It was a great concert by every ensemble, as well as the choir.”  Stephanie Ager (Freshman): “American Elegy was by far my favorite piece, I could not believe how amazing it sounded at the concert; the piece was very relaxing and I loved playing it.”

Most importantly, the art and music programs at BFUHS are grateful for all of their supporters. The accomplishments of our students would be impossible without their patronage! Congratulations to art teacher Anna Macijeski, Music Director Nick Pelton, Choral Director Mary Westbrook and all of their dedicated students!
